| Anonymous asked: I think there is validity to the argument of Katniss being a slytherin. Being a Slytherin doesn't mean you wouldn't sacrifice yourself for family. In fact, isn't that what Narcissa Malfoy did for her son when she put her own life in danger by lying to Voldemort? Katniss was also quick to draw her arrow when she thought Peeta was drawing his knife. She would have killed him if she had to. And what's so bad about Katniss being a Slytherin anyways? Let's not forget Severus Snape. my 2 cents... |
There is a case for Katniss being a Slytherin, it’s just not a strong one. What Narcissa did was unheard of, most Slytherins are in it for themselves. I believe it says specifically that Slytherins have a strong sense of self preservation, something Katniss cared little for. She risked her life MANY times for the good of the whole through volunteering and her support of the rebellion, even fighting on the front lines.
She also wasn’t very cunning, Peeta had more of a chance at being Slytherin than her. Peeta could manipulate people with his words, Katniss was oblivious.
